Mommy's been slackin'

Since it's been a few days since Poppy has put anything on here, I thought I would write a little something. It's getting really close to the day I leave to fly home for R&R. I'm very excited about coming home and seeing my wife and daughter for the first time in about 5 months. The last two weeks have been dragging out, it seems like the nights go by so slow, and I'm asleep during the days so I don't know how slow they go. The weather here is much different than the places I've been over here on my last two tours. It's a lot farther north and I'm up in the mountains. It stays pretty cool here, yesterday we had flood rains and all night the temperature stayed in the lower 50's. My last two deployments it was already in the upper 90's where I was stationed. I've been keeping in touch every day with Poppy, I try to call at least twice a day and we send numerous emails back and forth. I think it makes the time go by much faster if you can stay in touch with the one you love. Anyway, I can't wait to get back home to see everyone, especially my beautiful baby girl. I can't wait to see how much she's changed since I last saw her when she was only 8 days old. Well, that's it for me, I'm gonna give Poppy a call and hit the hay. Take care.
