My big girl

I haven't written in a few days but most of my readers have been without power anyways. First, I hope everyone in NWA is safe and sound after the ice storm. From what I hear and the pictures I see it was a doozy.
Second, Audrey is getting so grown up. She has been sleeping in her own bed every night (except for the night it was too cold in her room). And she even puts herself to sleep some. She lays in her crib jabbering until she falls asleep. It is so cute to hear her talk and she does it constantly. I am afraid that she is going to be chatty like her momma. Tony is never going to get any peace. On the night she slept with me I woke up to her pushing off my chest with her legs and grunting. I looked to see what she was doing and she had pushed herself to her paci, put her mouth on top of it and pushed it in. I think the child might be a genius.
On Monday she is starting daycare. I am not sure if she will be going full time but I am definitely taking her Monday. I am already a little sad about it but I think we are both ready. We will see.
I love you all and I don't have any pictures. My camera battery has been dead for the last few days.

More pictures for today...

Doesn't she look so grown up in her jeans?

Fun on the floor. See how light her hair is getting.

Tummy time. She isn't really a fan but it makes her more determined to roll over. I think she will get it soon.

More fun times after I flipped her back over.

My sweet angel.

Baby pic comparison.

Okay so I have said all along that Audrey is a cute version of me when I was a baby. You be the judge. Audrey has more meat on her and her head isn't nearly so big but she does look a lot like me. Thank goodness she got Tony's cute genes.

Everything is A-OK!

Audrey went to the pediatric nephrologist today to get the results of her test last week. She doesn't have reflux. This means that her UTI was just a freak thing and will probably be an isolated incident. She weighs 10lbs 5 oz and she is 23 inches long. She is right on track as far as growth goes. We have to continue the antibiotic treatment til she is 6 months old but other than that we are good. I have no pics from today (sorry) but I wanted to let everyone know how her appt went.

A perfect day!

If Tony would have been home today would have been perfect. I got to chat with him online and on the phone so it was close. Audrey was the best today. She was really sleepy after being up all day yesterday but when she was awake she was so much fun to play with. I don't even think she cried once today but she laughed tons. We got loads of playtime and snuggle time in. I got some cute video of her kicking around and laughing for Tony. Here are some pics (I know that is what you all come for):

Fun on the floor. I couldn't ever capture a full smile.

The favorite pass time of the day.

Her poop face!

And again.

Relaxing day

Today Audrey and I just hung out around the house. I can't believe how independent she is getting. She puts herself to sleep now and sleeps in her crib in her own room. Its amazing how much she changes in such a small amount of time.
She still loves baths. I couldn't resist taking more bath time fun pictures.

I made it through last night.

Audrey stayed in her crib the entire night last night and we are trying again tonight. She looks so small in her crib. She is sleeping so good lately. She goes to sleep around 10:30 or 11 and sleeps til about 5:30 or 6. Its wonderful. Tony calls at 11 after his shift every night so it gives me time to talk to him and turn in for the night. I get a solid 6 hours in before A wants to eat again. After eating in the morning she will even go back to sleep and sleep til 9 or 10. Its nice to get things done in the morning or even sleep in. :)

The coolest picture ever.

My Uncle David sent us the coolest picture ever. I am not sure where he had it made but it is so neat. He sent me a poster size one in a frame and bunch of post card sized ones. It really is a neat gift.
I put Audrey to bed in her crib tonight. This will be the first night she has slept in her own room. She has been sleeping in her cradle in my room. We will see how it goes.

I hate Huggies and other things I have learned since becoming a mommy...

I absolutely hate Huggies. Even the fancy kind. Pampers are the way to go. The Huggies don't absorb anything. And even though I change A frequently, I still don't want her sitting in wetness. Here are some other things I have discovered:
  • Babies like to be left alone sometimes. There are times in each day when Audrey doesn't want to be held. She just wants to chill and look around at her surroundings.
  • The swing can be a lifesaver when you have to pee. When Audrey wants to be held, potty breaks require the swing. She digs it so she doesn't complain about being left in there. It is also helpful at dinner time and when Tony wants to chat online.
  • Babies sometimes cry in their sleep. I was waking Audrey up the first 3 weeks of her life because I didn't realize this. I would pick her up every time she made a peep and it would wake her up. Poor baby wasn't getting a good night sleep until I realized I needed to leave her alone.
  • Everyone is an expert on parenting. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry has an opinion on how to raise your kid. I'm sorry but I really don't care how the lady in the Wal-Mart parking lot thinks that Audrey needs to ride in her carseat in the cart, not in the baby carrier.
  • Keep trying new things. What didn't work yesterday might work today and vice versa.

Radioactive pee

My baby has radioactive pee. She had her reflux test today in Nuclear Med and she did great. They put a catheter in her and filled her bladder and took pictures for 30 minutes. She was strapped down the whole time and she barely even cried. The little booger even fell asleep. We will find out the results next Monday but I think they looked good (but what do I know).
We went to visit some friends this afternoon and then went to a FRG meeting on post. Audrey slept through the whole meeting so our night got started kind of late. She was in a great mood though and we played for a long time and got some great video footage for daddy. Here are some pics from our night. She smiles a lot now.

My baby likes to rock!!!

Audrey was super fussy again tonight. I tried everything to soothe her but nothing worked. I could get her settled for a while but then when I would lay her down she would wake up in five minutes and be at it again. I finally discovered the secret. Girlfriend wants to rock. I turned on the radio and danced with her and she was quiet until she crashed. She must take after her Grandma Martha. Well... I guess dancing with your baby is one way to get rid of those pregnancy pounds.
Tomorrow we have the big test to see if A has reflux from her bladder to her kidneys. I don't think we will get the results until the Dr. appt on the 26th. I feel bad for my baby. Getting a catheter is no fun.

6 weeks old

My baby is growing up so fast. Today she is 6 weeks old. I can't believe it. We had a busy day today because I am finally cleared to lift anything I want (I have been breaking the rules but I can do it officially without feeling guilty as of today). We went through all of my clothes and tried them all on my post pregnancy body. Some of them actually fit which was very exciting. We went to the grocery store and stocked up the kitchen. Then we worked on daddy's birthday present and went to buy me some jeans. Audrey was in a great mood after shopping so we played on the floor for a long time. The good mood didn't last though. My little angel was not so angelic tonight. She did not want to go to sleep and she fought it with everything she had. I spent the last hour or so rocking her and walking around with her. I sang every song I know (trust me that's a lot) and some of them 2 or 3 times. She is finally asleep. Yay!

Here are some playtime pics. Enjoy!

For Meg

My friend Meg blog tagged Audrey and I for an on the spot picture. Here are the rules:

1) Take a picture of yourself right NOW!
2) DON'T change your clothes; DON'T fix your hair... Just take a picture.
3) Post that picture with NO editing.
4) Post these instructions with your picture.
5) Tag 10 people to do this.

Here goes...

Now I am supposed to tag 10 more people to do this on their blog but no one who reads my blog has one of their own but Amanda, so tag Amanda.
I totally cheated and took a picture of just Audrey. I was just wearing my nursing bra at the time so trust me, I spared you all.
The second one goes like this:
1. Go to the 4th picture folder on your computer.
2. Post the 4th picture in that folder.
3. Explain the picture.

This picture is from when Heather and David's electricity got shut off and we had no lights. We were roughin' it and this was my flashlight. Good times!

1 month...

Tony has officially been gone for a month. I can't believe it. Time is flying by and I haven't even really started working again. Audrey keeps me so busy that I don't have time to be sad about Tony not being here. I miss him like crazy but I don't have time to think about it. We hear from him almost every day and I am so thankful for that. It helps me not have to worry as much. If anyone wants to send him anything his address is:
SPC Anthony Peachee
HHT 3HBCT 1CD FECC
FOB Marez
APO, AE 09334
He loves to get care packages. Beef jerky is always a favorite.

Mirror, mirror...

During playtime I decided to prop A's mirror up against something so that she could look at herself. She was amazed with what she discovered. She stared at herself for a good 15 minutes. It was so cute. At one point she even reached out to touch the mirror. So sweet!

A new do for Mommy

I cut all of my hair off today and dyed it closer to my natural color. I figure I need to be lower maintenance since its just me and the babe. Beth from work watched A while I was getting it done and she was an angel again. I love this kid. She really is good. I am so thankful.

Audrey's 1st day on the job.

We worked from 9 to 5 today! Or at least I did and Audrey was awesome the entire time. She barely made a peep all day and entertained herself in her bouncy chair or slept the entire time. I was so proud of my baby girl. I have been reluctant to take her to daycare and since she is so well behaved I might not have to take her as quickly. She is such a good baby and I am so blessed.
Tony started the night shift today. He found a computer place near his work so hopefully he can keep up better. He hasn't been able to look at this blog or at pictures of Audrey so I am thankful that he found a place to check things out. I miss him lots but he is great about staying in touch as much as possible and that makes it lots easier.

My little "G"

Today I took out the trash and felt extremely guilty about the amount of disposable diapers I was putting in the landfill. So I busted out the cloth diapers. Audrey loves them and they seem to be easier on her bum. We need more supplies before we fully commit to the cloth diapers though. We need a diaper pail and more diapers and then we will be all set. We will still have to use the disposables for daycare but I think we will use the cloth at home from now on.

Vote for me for the Huggies cutest baby

If y'all vote mommy gets tons of diaper money. Please help. Here is the link.

Just a swingin'

Today Audrey was gassy and irritable all day. I could feel the bubbles in her tummy and mylecon wasn't helping. She was pretty miserable. I would rock her, sing to her, pat her belly, but nothing seemed to soothe her for longer than 30 minutes or so. Except the swing! That thing is a miracle. I hate to put her in it too much but she would quiet down every time she got in it. She just lays there in a trance. Eventually she would fall asleep and I would move her to her cradle. She seems to be better after her bath and she is content sitting in her bouncy seat while I type this. I screwed up our schedule so its not time to nurse her yet. I hope she feels better after we move to the lower dose of antibiotics. That starts tomorrow. YAY! I hate for my baby girl to feel bad.

A day of waiting

Today Audrey and I spent our whole day waiting. It started nicely with lunch with my friend Ashley but then we went to get A's birth certificate. I had to nurse her in the parking lot because she was starving. And we went in and stood in line. It was only a 30 min wait which wasn't too bad and the lady gave 2 birth certificates for the price of one so that was a good score. The 30 minutes there was nothing compared to the 2.5 hours we spent waiting for A's antibiotics at the pharmacy. The good news is from now on the refills can be picked up at the PX pharmacy and the wait won't be as bad. But, the bad news is that her antibiotics expire after 14 days so we have to go thru this every 2 weeks for 6 months at least. Yikes! Plus the PX pharmacy doesn't stay open late enough for me to go after work so that is what we will be doing every other Sat. for the next 6 months. Oh well, I have no life anyways so it gives me something to do. A is still wide awake. She is a bit off schedule tonight. She slept all day because we were moving so much. It will probably be a late night.

The onesie didn't work. Sorry Daddy!

So I did my best to cheer on the Sooners in Tony's absence but my best wasn't good enough. I even dressed Audrey in her OU onesie that we inherited from my cousin Vikki, still nothing. Its looking like the Sooners aren't going to get the win against the Gators. On the bright side, my baby girl looked sweet in her onesie.
Last night Audrey slept for 6 hours straight. It made us miss our night time antibiotic dose but it was very nice to be able to sleep for 6 hours with no interuption. She is getting to be quite the big girl. Its very impressive. We have started having a bedtime routine. Bath, nursing, rocking, then bed time. She tends to get gassy at night so the rocking is very important. (Plus its good bonding time for us)
I think that I am going to go back to work some next week. I am planning on taking A with me and only working for a little bit but I have tons to catch up on and it will be nice for us to get out of the house.

1 month old!!!

It's already been a month! I can't believe it. Audrey and I celebrated by taking a bath then taking lots of pictures to document the occasion. Audrey loves bath time but hates getting dressed afterward.

One of the many 1 month pics

Getting dressed after bath :-(

All snuggly after her bath

She's smiling =)

She is so calm in the tub. Its so sweet. There are lots more bath pics but they aren't appropriate for the internet.
