My big girl

I haven't written in a few days but most of my readers have been without power anyways. First, I hope everyone in NWA is safe and sound after the ice storm. From what I hear and the pictures I see it was a doozy.
Second, Audrey is getting so grown up. She has been sleeping in her own bed every night (except for the night it was too cold in her room). And she even puts herself to sleep some. She lays in her crib jabbering until she falls asleep. It is so cute to hear her talk and she does it constantly. I am afraid that she is going to be chatty like her momma. Tony is never going to get any peace. On the night she slept with me I woke up to her pushing off my chest with her legs and grunting. I looked to see what she was doing and she had pushed herself to her paci, put her mouth on top of it and pushed it in. I think the child might be a genius.
On Monday she is starting daycare. I am not sure if she will be going full time but I am definitely taking her Monday. I am already a little sad about it but I think we are both ready. We will see.
I love you all and I don't have any pictures. My camera battery has been dead for the last few days.

More pictures for today...

Doesn't she look so grown up in her jeans?

Fun on the floor. See how light her hair is getting.

Tummy time. She isn't really a fan but it makes her more determined to roll over. I think she will get it soon.

More fun times after I flipped her back over.

My sweet angel.

Baby pic comparison.

Okay so I have said all along that Audrey is a cute version of me when I was a baby. You be the judge. Audrey has more meat on her and her head isn't nearly so big but she does look a lot like me. Thank goodness she got Tony's cute genes.

Everything is A-OK!

Audrey went to the pediatric nephrologist today to get the results of her test last week. She doesn't have reflux. This means that her UTI was just a freak thing and will probably be an isolated incident. She weighs 10lbs 5 oz and she is 23 inches long. She is right on track as far as growth goes. We have to continue the antibiotic treatment til she is 6 months old but other than that we are good. I have no pics from today (sorry) but I wanted to let everyone know how her appt went.

A perfect day!

If Tony would have been home today would have been perfect. I got to chat with him online and on the phone so it was close. Audrey was the best today. She was really sleepy after being up all day yesterday but when she was awake she was so much fun to play with. I don't even think she cried once today but she laughed tons. We got loads of playtime and snuggle time in. I got some cute video of her kicking around and laughing for Tony. Here are some pics (I know that is what you all come for):

Fun on the floor. I couldn't ever capture a full smile.

The favorite pass time of the day.

Her poop face!

And again.

Relaxing day

Today Audrey and I just hung out around the house. I can't believe how independent she is getting. She puts herself to sleep now and sleeps in her crib in her own room. Its amazing how much she changes in such a small amount of time.
She still loves baths. I couldn't resist taking more bath time fun pictures.

I made it through last night.

Audrey stayed in her crib the entire night last night and we are trying again tonight. She looks so small in her crib. She is sleeping so good lately. She goes to sleep around 10:30 or 11 and sleeps til about 5:30 or 6. Its wonderful. Tony calls at 11 after his shift every night so it gives me time to talk to him and turn in for the night. I get a solid 6 hours in before A wants to eat again. After eating in the morning she will even go back to sleep and sleep til 9 or 10. Its nice to get things done in the morning or even sleep in. :)

The coolest picture ever.

My Uncle David sent us the coolest picture ever. I am not sure where he had it made but it is so neat. He sent me a poster size one in a frame and bunch of post card sized ones. It really is a neat gift.
I put Audrey to bed in her crib tonight. This will be the first night she has slept in her own room. She has been sleeping in her cradle in my room. We will see how it goes.

I hate Huggies and other things I have learned since becoming a mommy...

I absolutely hate Huggies. Even the fancy kind. Pampers are the way to go. The Huggies don't absorb anything. And even though I change A frequently, I still don't want her sitting in wetness. Here are some other things I have discovered:
  • Babies like to be left alone sometimes. There are times in each day when Audrey doesn't want to be held. She just wants to chill and look around at her surroundings.
  • The swing can be a lifesaver when you have to pee. When Audrey wants to be held, potty breaks require the swing. She digs it so she doesn't complain about being left in there. It is also helpful at dinner time and when Tony wants to chat online.
  • Babies sometimes cry in their sleep. I was waking Audrey up the first 3 weeks of her life because I didn't realize this. I would pick her up every time she made a peep and it would wake her up. Poor baby wasn't getting a good night sleep until I realized I needed to leave her alone.
  • Everyone is an expert on parenting. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry has an opinion on how to raise your kid. I'm sorry but I really don't care how the lady in the Wal-Mart parking lot thinks that Audrey needs to ride in her carseat in the cart, not in the baby carrier.
  • Keep trying new things. What didn't work yesterday might work today and vice versa.

My little gansta

Conked out.
