Just the Girls....
All of our visitors have left and the house seems so empty. Audrey was so glad to see everyone, especially her cousin Dax! Dax was so gentle with her and they were so sweet together.
I am pretty sure that Audrey is feeling much better. She has been more alert and she has been sleeping better at night which is great for me since I am going it alone now. We are missing Tony a lot today so Audrey is wearing her hero shirt in his honor. I hope everyone had a happy New Year. I am so excited to watch my little girl grow in 2009.

Its a good thing we sanitized his hands first. ;-)

They were so sweet!

Making my "Pop-Eye" face.

She is so stinkin' cute!

She is getting more active. She is a real mover and a shaker lately.

Happy New Year!
We get to start 2009 with a house full of visitors. David, Heather and Dax will be here in the morning and Grandpa Johnnie will be too. Audrey and I are so excited. I have a feeling my little party girl will be up at midnight tonight so I will have her to kiss at midnight. A pretty good replacement for Tony don't you think? Happy New Year!

We busted out
They let us go early! Only because my little girl is a feisty one. She ripped out her iv again and they didn't want to put a new one in so they sent us home on some oral antibiotics. Now if I can only get her to stop spitting them out...
They are still running another test to rule out the reflux and it is scheduled for Jan 20. The Dr. gave me a website about vesicoureteral reflux so that Tony could read up on it but I will put the link here for anyone who might be curious.

I love the Dr. She gave me her e-mail address so that Tony can e-mail her any questions or concerns that he may have. She said she would answer him ASAP. She seems to have my baby's best interest at heart.
Its good to be home.

Sick Baby
Audrey is sick. On Saturday we noticed that she was extra fussy and she started running a fever. We took her to the ER b/c newborns aren't supposed to get fevers. When we got there they ran all kinds of scary tests, including a lumbar puncture, on her to determine the possible cause for the fever. They also started an iv and started giving her iv antibiotics immediately. They told us we would be there for at least 48hrs til all of the cultures came back. The cultures came back and they determined that my sweet angel has a urinary tract infection. They did an ultrasound of her kidneys today and they are good, although they haven't ruled out reflux. We will be in the hospital until Friday so she can continue her iv antibiotics and when she is released she will have to be on low dose oral antibiotics for at least 6 months to keep her from getting another one. She will be seeing a pediatric nephrologist (Kidney specialist) once a month for a least 6 months as well. She seems to be doing much better.
Also, Tony is officially on his way to Iraq. He was on his way earlier today.

Merry Christmas
Today we definitely had a merry Christmas. Audrey woke up in a great mood and was in great spirits for her bath and for presents. We dressed her up in a pretty dress and took tons of pictures. Sorry if there are too many, I am a proud mommy. After presents she pretty much slept the rest of the day and only woke up to eat. We had a visit from our friends the Kragie's and that was nice. We really wish we could be in Arkansas for Christmas and we definitely missed Daddy but it was a very nice Christmas. We love you all. Merry Christmas. The picture on the left is my happy baby after eating her fill this afternoon.

A good day
Audrey is more alert every day. Today she spent a lot of time on her tummy playing with her toys. She even lifted her head and turned to face in the other direction. She is still eating like a champ. We had quite a day today. We went to my work to visit and then we took a walk. I carried Audrey in the carrier and she snoozed the whole time. She is still eating like a champ and sleeping quite a bit. We are both very excited about Christmas.

Feeding Success!!!
Audrey and I have been having some difficulty in the breastfeeding dept. We had been feeding her pumped breast milk because of her weight loss but since she is gaining well we have been trying to get her back on the breast. She would do it sometimes and then other times she wanted no part of it. Not today!!! Today has been a total success. I am so excited. The pump has been my enemy the past 2 weeks and I think I get to put it away until I go back to work. I am so proud of my baby girl. Today Audrey discovered how to play kick off the blanket. This was the activity of the morning and kept her entertained for about an hour. She is so cute. I recorded it but am waiting for Uncle James's visit before I can post video.
