Crawling

Audrey has been crawling a little for a week or so but now its official, she is a crawler. She still doesn't like it much and would much rather stand but she uses it to get from one standing point to another. There is less moving work for me now and more chasing going on. I can't believe how big and independent she is getting. It is kind of sad.
Speaking of big, her dad order her an ENORMOUS bear and it came in today. It came in an ENORMOUS box and she loved it just as much as the bear. She was climbing all over the bear the whole day. Good job daddy!

Opening the box
I had a hard time opening it because she wouldn't quit pulling up on it.
Her first encounter with her new buddy
Look how big he is. He is super cute!
Getting to know Brutus
I don't know if she was snuggling with him or fighting. It was cute either way.
This picture cracks me up.
I think she was tired.
Clapping for her new toy

Any tips???

On how to get a baby to wake up later? Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with Audrey but I would much rather do it in the evening than at 5 am. She has been going to bed at 7pm and waking up at 5am. I try to keep her up a little later but it is not happening. If I do, she doesn't make it through our routine before she falls asleep. I am mostly worried about daylight savings time because 4am is just way too early.
Here is Audrey at 7:30 this morning. She had already taken her 1st nap of the day.
Playing with her new puzzle from Uncle James, Aunt Charity and Meg.
She loved it!

Lollipop Kid

Our baby is a lollipop. We went to the pediatrician today and here are her measurements.

Length = in percentile 25 (27 inches)
Weight = between percentile 10 and 25 (16lbs 15ozs)
Head Circumference = above percentile 95 (18 1/2 inches)

She needs a big head for all her brains. =) The pedi says she is perfectly healthy and appears to be on time or ahead on all of her milestones. She was a total show off at her appointment. When the pedi walked in Audrey waved, later she called me Mama when she was trying to get my attention, then the pedi checked her ears and said "Yay! All better" and Audrey started clapping. It was so cute!
I have a feeling this is going to be an exciting month for us. She has learned so much since she has been visiting the toddler room. Every day she comes home doing something new and exhausted. She has been crawling (the real way) some and she pushes herself to standing using the floor and stands without support for a few seconds. She is getting pretty good on her feet and can cruise around everything and even maneuver around obstacles. I am really proud of her. Tonight when she was in the tub I looked at her and I couldn't believe how big she is getting. She is so much fun. I can't wait for her daddy to be home to enjoy her.

Audrey is 9 months old today. I will do the official post on Wednesday because that is when her check up is and I will have all the stats. This is going to be fun month. I have a feeling a lot is going to happen for her this month.
Happy Labor day and happy birthday Grampa Johnnie!

A toddler????

Today I picked up Audrey from daycare and they told me that they are trying her out in the toddler room. She is much more active than most of the babies in her room and they think she may not be getting as much activity as she would like. So, today she played with the big kids. All of the rest of the kids in that room are over 1 but they said Audrey did GREAT. She got to go on a field trip around the daycare in the big 6 baby stroller and they had all kinds of new toys. The only issue was that she didn't sleep very well but they think it was just all of the excitement and newness. Part of me is proud that my baby is able to play with older kids but a big part of me is sad. Where did my little baby girl go? I don't know if she is staying there permanently but they are going to let her at least visit every day.
